To commemorate the upcoming "TAMASHII NATION 2026" brand exhibition, scheduled from November 13-15, 2026, Bandai Spirits' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced a new entry in its "METAL ROBOT Damashii" series. Known for its metallic finishes and die-cast frames, the latest release is the "Destiny Gundam Spec II Final Battle Ver." from the theatrical anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," slated for November 2026.
Piloted by Shinn Asuka, the ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam Spec II is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Eternal after the previous great war. It was then repaired and upgraded by Morgenroete using the latest technology. Enhancements include a cutting-edge panoramic cockpit, replacement of joint armor materials, and significant improvements to the power system. The substantial increase in energy output also resulted in a deeper coloration for its Variable Phase Shift (VPS) armor. While its overall armament configuration remains largely the same as its predecessor, the suit notably revealed its ability to unleash dozens of "Mirage Colloid duplicates" for coordinated attacks during the final battle sequence.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Destiny Gundam Spec II Final Battle Ver." is based on the previously released standard version but features significant modifications. The entire suit's paint scheme has been updated to a red hue with a diffused red glow. Furthermore, the die-cast joints in areas like the elbows and knees have been electroplated to replicate the red light emitted when deploying its "Mirage Colloid duplicates." The figure also boasts numerous original body markings printed across its surface, enhancing the mobile suit's imposing, weapon-like presence and realism.
This version also includes a wealth of armament accessories, such as the "Arondight" Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, "Flash-Edge 2" Beam Boomerangs, High-Energy Beam Rifle, "Palma Fiocina" Palm Beam Cannon effect parts, Beam Shield effect parts, and the Prototype 35-Type Modified Railgun. Additionally, it bundles the "Wings of Light" effect parts, previously sold separately, allowing collectors to recreate the Destiny Gundam Spec II's dynamic combat poses when deploying its "Mirage Colloid duplicates" from the film.
