To commemorate the upcoming flagship event, "TAMASHII NATION 2026," scheduled from November 13-15, 2026, Bandai Spirits' TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles division has announced its latest S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou release: "Dark Tiga" from "Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey," slated for November 2026.
Dark Tiga is the form Ultraman Tiga took 30 million years ago during the era of the ultra-ancient civilization, as depicted in the film "Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey." Alongside Carmeara, Darramb, and Hudra, he was one of the "Giants of Darkness," corrupted by the darkness within their hearts, engaging in fierce battles against other Giants of Light. Fortunately, Yuzare, the leader of the Earth Defense Force at the time, helped Tiga regain the light in his heart. Tiga then sealed away the other three Dark Giants, restoring peace. However, this war led to the collapse of the ultra-ancient civilization. Tiga and the surviving Giants of Light entrusted their power to future generations of humanity, transforming into stone statues and falling into a long slumber.
The "S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Dark Tiga" is an updated version based on a previously released standard edition. It has been thoroughly supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS sculpting division. The figure faithfully recreates Dark Tiga's on-screen appearance at approximately 15 cm tall, utilizing full-body 3D scans of suit actor Shunsuke Gondo, who originally portrayed Tiga. Furthermore, Minoru Narita, the designer of the original Tiga suit, was invited to oversee the product's prototype creation.
The figure's entire body features new molding colors and paintwork to accurately capture the dark tones of his "Giant of Darkness" era. It also includes newly sculpted "transformation effect parts" to recreate the iconic scene where lightning-like energy emanates from his chest Color Timer during his transformation. Furthermore, similar to the recently released "30th Anniversary Edition," this product features improved articulation for the chest. The pectoral muscle parts on both sides, centered around the Color Timer, now incorporate new articulation splits, allowing them to move towards the center of the chest. This ensures that when the arms are raised at the shoulder joints, the pectoral muscles can maintain a more screen-accurate position.
