More than five months ago, Vice Studios and Swedish developer Starbreeze Entertainment announced their collaboration to adapt the first-person shooter game series "Payday: The Heist" into a screen project. At the time, it was unclear whether the adaptation would be a film, TV series, or animation. Yesterday, however, they confirmed it would be a live-action television series and revealed that rapper 50 Cent and his production company would join the project.

According to an exclusive report by Variety, 50 Cent will serve as an executive producer for the series, with his company G-Unit Film & TV also co-producing. G-Unit Film & TV's previous work includes "Den of Thieves 2," in which 50 Cent also starred, and a third installment is currently in development. The "Payday" series is still in the very early stages of development, with no writers, actors, directors, or showrunners attached, and a broadcast platform has yet to be announced.
