The live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, which is now in post-production, may have added another major name to its cast. According to film industry insider Daniel Richtman, Samara Weaving—who has reportedly been chosen to portray Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen, in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot—will play the goddess Hylia in the Nintendo adaptation. Neither Nintendo nor Sony Pictures has officially confirmed Weaving’s involvement at the time of writing.
The previously revealed cast includes Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, Uli Latukefu as Ganondorf and Dichen Lachman as Impa. Yvonne Strahovski and the late Sam Neill are also set to appear, although their roles have not yet been officially disclosed.

The live-action Legend of Zelda movie is directed by Wes Ball, whose credits include the Maze Runner trilogy and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The screenplay was developed by Ball’s Maze Runner collaborator T.S. Nowlin and Jurassic World franchise writer Derek Connolly. The film is currently scheduled to open in North America on April 30, 2027.
Producers include Avi Arad, who has been involved with numerous Spider-Man movies including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Nintendo Representative Director and Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto.
