Three months after director Ari Aster, known for "Hereditary" and "Midsommar" (pictured below), officially commenced pre-production on his fifth feature film, "Scapegoat," with Scarlett Johansson already set to star, Deadline now reports that rising star Jacob Elordi is in talks to join the project. Elordi has seen his profile soar recently with roles in "Euphoria" and other notable works.

While the official synopsis for "Scapegoat" remains under wraps, rumors suggest it could be either a sci-fi romance or a more traditional drama. Previous reports have described the plot centering on a surgeon whose career is jeopardized after a popular social media influencer tragically dies during a routine procedure. As public scrutiny intensifies, the influencer's grieving widow and brother embark on a quest for the truth, escalating the already fraught situation. Production is slated to begin in the latter half of this year.
