Kamen Rider Black RX
After Kotaro Minami's "King Stone" was exposed to solar energy, it underwent a transformation, giving birth to the "Son of the Sun" — Kamen Rider Black RX! This new form boasts three times the combat power of Kamen Rider Black, along with nearly infinite stamina and instant self-healing abilities.
I admit, I have a soft spot for Kamen Rider...
Hot Toys faithfully recreates the classic dark green and black suit design, retaining Black's iconic LED-illuminated compound eyes and insectoid antennae. The prominent "RX" emblem on the chest and the intricate muscle sculpt are meticulously rendered. The suit is crafted from multi-layered, silkscreen-printed elastic fabric, significantly enhancing both durability and articulation.
Standing approximately 31cm tall, the figure features over 30 points of articulation. High-density details on the helmet, belt, and other areas are intricately reproduced using ABS, PVC, and POM plastics, with weathering effects applied to the gloves and boots. The "Sun Riser" transformation belt includes an LED light-up function and comes with a replaceable "mechanical structure" panel to depict the moment of transformation, adding a strong sense of ritual. Aesthetically, it's truly impeccable!
The quality control, paint application, and finish are excellent! To recreate the series' thrilling special moves, the figure includes his signature weapon, the "Revolcane." It comes with interchangeable solid silver and translucent blue blades, as well as hilt parts. The silver hilt features a built-in LED light-up function, which, when paired with the translucent blue blade, allows for the recreation of his ultimate finishing move. Furthermore, you can replicate the dramatic scene where he draws the "Revolving Energy Sword" from his belt, spins, and watches enemies vanish in a chain of explosions. Accessories also include "Rider Kick" leg effect parts, along with a specially designed display stand featuring the exclusive logo and character nameplate, truly showcasing his regal presence!
The joints throughout the main body have a moderate tightness. However, articulation remains a "fatal flaw" for this series, particularly around the neck (though it might still be the best articulation among all RX products on the market) and waist. While joint rebound isn't severe when posing for photos, standing the figure without a display stand feels quite precarious. Aesthetically, collectors have primarily discussed the RX belt appearing slightly small and the Revolcane's two circular sections lacking an outer ring. However, I believe in person, the black outer ring around the translucent red parts visually makes the two red circles appear smaller. The compound eyes feature a dot pattern rather than the original hexagonal honeycomb structure. Fans have also criticized the thigh area for not using silk fabric. Honestly, I personally prefer this Hot Toys version in terms of overall appearance!
Collectors should pay special attention to a few points when handling the figure! Firstly, the wire connectors on the back and for the Revolcane are quite fragile, so exercise extreme caution when inserting and removing them. Additionally, the hilts of the Revolcane blades are delicate; when using the sword-holding hand, try to leverage the hilt itself to avoid any mishaps at the connection points. I'm also very satisfied with all the light-up effects, and I hope Hot Toys might consider a rechargeable design in the future. The absence of exposed wires would make the entire package even more perfect!
Anyway, you can absolutely pose him however you like, recreating iconic scenes from the show! Regardless, as a top-tier Rider fan, there's no escaping this 12-inch rabbit hole for me... While the pleather suit is definitely more durable than Medicom's, I'm still a bit concerned about its long-term longevity.
A definite must-buy for true Rider fans! RX is undoubtedly one of D.M.S.'s Top 10 Best Buys for 2026! Besides Decade, Diend, and Fourze, I'm absolutely going all-in on every other Rider Final Form! Bring it on, Hot Toys!
