Anne Hathaway has a packed schedule with a slate of upcoming films, including "Mother Mary" and "The Odyssey." Now, the final film on her upcoming roster, "Verity," has just dropped its second official trailer tonight, promising a tense psychological thriller.

Based on the bestselling thriller novel of the same name by "It Ends with Us" author Colleen Hoover, the film is directed by Michael Showalter, who previously collaborated with Hathaway on "The Idea of You." The script was penned by Nick Antosca, co-writer of "Antlers." The cast also includes Josh Hartnett, Dakota Johnson, and Michael Abbott Jr. The film is set to hit theaters on October 2.

Official synopsis: Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin, accepts the job offer of a lifetime. She is hired by Jeremy Crawford (Hartnett) to complete the remaining books in a successful series his wife, bestselling thriller author Verity Crawford (Hathaway), is unable to finish after a mysterious accident leaves her in a catatonic state.
Arriving at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen uncovers an unfinished, secret manuscript that may reveal the horrifying truth behind the family's past. As Lowen uncovers more and more disturbing secrets, she must navigate her growing feelings for Jeremy and his young son, Crew, while trying to determine if Verity's writings are chilling fiction or an ominous warning from a deranged psychopath.
