Japanese model company KAIYODO's highly articulated figure brand "REVOLTECH" has announced a new addition to its "Amazing Yamaguchi" series, sculpted by renowned原型師 (prototyper) Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. The latest release hails from the classic sci-fi anime "Tekkaman Blade" and features the titular "Tekkaman Blade" himself. Standing approximately 17.5 cm tall, the figure is priced at 12,100 JPY (tax included) and will be available for pre-order starting August 17, 2026, with an anticipated release in May 2027.
First aired in 1992, "Tekkaman Blade" tells the story of D-Boy, a protagonist transformed by the alien lifeform Radam. As Tekkaman Blade, he battles his family members, who are controlled by the enemy, all while grappling with the devastating cost of his body and memories slowly deteriorating. The series' blend of bio-armor, intense space warfare, and the tragic hero archetype cemented its status as one of the most iconic sci-fi anime of the 90s. Tekkaman Blade's sharp, organic armor design has also long been a favorite among mecha and action figure collectors.
This new figure is sculpted by Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, with production assistance from CCSTOYS. Its sharp armor contours are meticulously rendered with ABS parts, while the Amazing Yamaguchi series' signature joint design allows for dynamic posing that captures the unique power of a bio-weapon. The two "Tek Lancers" can be used separately or combined into a single long-handled weapon by swapping the grips. The "Tek Shield" can also be attached to the arm or waist using connector parts, replicating various equipment configurations seen in the series.
Perhaps the most exciting feature is the figure's ultimate weapon, "VOLTEKKA," concealed within its shoulders. It can be deployed directly without any parts swapping, and by attaching two firing effect parts, fans can recreate the powerful energy blast of Tekkaman Blade's signature special move. Additional accessories include 11 interchangeable hands, an alternate head, and the "Tekkaman Evil Crystal" used during the story's climax. Customers who pre-order through KAIYODO's official direct channels will also receive two "afterimage effect parts" that can be attached to the Tek Lancer, perfect for depicting high-speed slashes or spinning spear attacks.
