MegaHouse Japan is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its "Kaitai Puzzle" series with the launch of a brand-new advanced line called "KAITANICS." For its inaugural release, the series is tackling the iconic, long-selling Honda "Super Cub 110." This new model kit is based on the 2022 model year Super Cub 110 (8BJ-JA59), meticulously crafted in 1/12 scale. It will be available in four distinct colors: blue, beige, white, and green. Each kit is priced at 7,700 JPY (tax included) and is slated for release in late December 2026.
The name "KAITANICS" cleverly combines the concepts of "KAITAI" (disassembly) and "TECHNICS" (technology, technique). Unlike conventional models that become static display pieces once assembled, this series encourages repeated disassembly and reassembly, allowing enthusiasts to understand mechanical structures through hands-on play. The Super Cub 110 model is composed of 37 individual parts and features a unique transparent half-body design, enabling collectors to appreciate both the complete vehicle silhouette and its intricate internal components simultaneously.
Internally, the kit faithfully recreates the Super Cub's signature automatic centrifugal clutch, gears, fuel tank, and frame. The transparent parts offer a direct view into the clutch's inner workings. The fuel tank can be independently removed, and opening its cap even reveals detailed fuel textures inside. Both the chain guard and side covers are detachable, and the seat also incorporates an opening mechanism. This design transforms the mechanical structures typically hidden beneath the exterior into the primary interactive feature of this engaging puzzle.
