Kotobukiya's Megalomaria Unlimited Universe Welcomes 'STARS' with New Compact Body and Waitress Theme!

Japanese model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the latest addition to its original model kit series, "Megalomaria Unlimited Universe," with the upcoming release of "STARS" slated for December 2026.

"Megalomaria Unlimited Universe" marks Kotobukiya's first product line where the vast majority of parts are manufactured domestically in Japan. Unlike previous model kits featuring bishoujo-style human or mecha girl designs, this series introduces the innovative "Marionette Style" body, which boasts a humanoid puppet appearance and prioritizes both "poseability" and "expressiveness." Its unique, composite worldview connects various Kotobukiya model kit series through a "play-within-a-play" narrative. For instance, it shares story connections and interchangeable parts with the "Sousai Shoujo Teien" series, offering builders endless possibilities for customization and display.

"STARS" is the second character in the compact body line, blending charming waitress and maid aesthetics. Her entire body features intricately articulated armor designed with cute apron, garter belt, and ribbon motifs. The skirt parts are freely detachable. Once assembled, the main body stands approximately 14 cm (5.5 inches) tall and boasts an impressive 68 points of articulation. This includes highly flexible shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee joints, allowing her legs to splay out 180 degrees for incredibly fluid, lifelike poses. Her distinctive side-ponytail hairstyle is connected with double ball joints, enabling multi-directional rotation and the option to attach it to either the left or right side.

The model offers two interchangeable forms: "Naked Form," where parts of the body are composed of skin-colored components, and "Masquerade Form," where parts of the body are covered by a mask and armor. In "Naked Form," she is constructed with skin-tone body parts and face components. The face features an articulated eyeball mechanism, allowing you to adjust her gaze with the included dedicated tool. The eyeball parts are produced using UV printing technology, which not only achieves delicate color separation for the iris but also gives the transparent coating on the eyeball surface a glossy, glass-like finish.

The "Masquerade Form," on the other hand, is composed of gray body parts and an inorganic, puppet-like face. Accessories include a machine gun, an order pad, a tray, and various interchangeable hand parts. These allow builders to recreate the image of a cute waitress who sometimes engages in daring combat.
