More than four years ago, Ewan McGregor's return to the "Star Wars" universe in the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series was a highly anticipated event for fans worldwide. However, upon its premiere, the show was met with devastating negative reviews, leaving many viewers disappointed. Despite this, McGregor has not abandoned the idea of a second season. Over the past four years, he has repeatedly and publicly expressed his unwavering enthusiasm for reprising the role.

McGregor's passion for the character has only intensified. While recently promoting his latest project, he told E! News that he wants to dedicate the rest of his acting career to telling Obi-Wan's story.
“I'm ready to go to work, they [Disney and Lucasfilm] just haven't come to me yet. I'm ready for it," McGregor stated. "At the end of the series, I walk off into the desert and I’ve decided to leave because I realize I can’t put any more pressure on Luke, and I realize he has to have his own childhood, so I leave him with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. And I walk off… and Qui-Gon has come back, and I’m off with him… Where are we going? And then the next time we see Obi-Wan Kenobi, he's Alec Guinness in the mountains. What I want to do is tell that story in between those two moments for the rest of my life. You know, whether it's a series or a movie, we've got time; I've got another 10 years or so before I'm the age Alec Guinness was when he shot it. So, Disney, let's go!"
