Rosario Dawson Reveals Cut 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Cameo: 'I'm a Spider-Man Orphan'

Rosario Dawson recently revealed in an old video from a GalaxyCon event that she originally had a cameo in Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: No Way Home," reprising her role as Claire Temple from "Daredevil," but her scenes were ultimately cut.

While sharing the stage with Vincent D'Onofrio, Dawson was asked which superhero franchise she'd like to join next. She responded by revealing she "shot a scene in the new 'Spider-Man' movie, and it got cut."

"I told my mom, and she was like, 'Oh no! Now I can't post those pictures!'" Dawson recounted with a laugh. "And I said, 'Yeah, Mom, we got cut from a movie that had the most-watched trailer in history. The problem is you can't post your behind-the-scenes pictures.'"

Dawson admitted that the cameo held particular significance for her, stating, "My uncle is a comic book artist, so that's actually one of the reasons why I appreciate this space so much." She added that her uncle's "first character he ever learned how to draw was Spider-Man."

She further explained, "There's a panel in a new comic book where young Spider-Man is talking to Daredevil, and they set it up in the movie that young Spider-Man went to PS19 in the Lower East Side, which is my old elementary school. You know, I had my post ready, and my behind-the-scenes pictures! My grandson was in full Spider-Man gear because he loves Spider-Man. Then I got an email that was basically like, 'Yeah, no.'"

Despite not making it to the big screen, Dawson joked, "I'm a 'Spider-Man' orphan." However, she also expressed that she liked the idea of Claire "being somewhere in the same universe, and I really love that, and I hope I get to play Claire again."
