Industry outlet World of Reel recently reported that Penn is currently filming "Snake Island" alongside fellow two-time Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. The project is helmed by Doug Liman, known for directing "Edge of Tomorrow." The film's narrative is inspired by the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. It will reportedly follow a Ukrainian dive team secretly executing a high-stakes underwater mission, set months after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, during a period of significant wartime disruption.
