While the latest DC Universe series, "Lanterns," is set to premiere this weekend, other DC shows in development are facing uncertainty. Industry outlet The Ankler reported today that two rumored "Batman" spin-off series — "Poison Ivy" and "Catwoman" — have had their proposals rejected by HBO and will not move forward.
The Ankler did not specify the universe for the "Catwoman" series, but noted that "Poison Ivy" was intended to connect to Robert Pattinson's "The Batman" universe. Previous rumors had suggested Scarlett Johansson might portray the character in "The Batman" sequel.

Additionally, The Ankler also reported that two other projects announced early in DC Studios' formation four years ago — a "Suicide Squad" spin-off focusing on Amanda Waller, and the "Wonder Woman" Paradise Island prequel series "Paradise Lost" — have both been halted. However, Entertainment Weekly (EW) countered, stating that the "Waller" solo series is only on hold at HBO, with DC Studios still developing it. As for "Paradise Lost," EW suggested it still has a chance to materialize in the future, leaving the door open for both projects.
On the animation front, however, there's positive news. It was confirmed today that Nathan Fillion, who consistently portrays Green Lantern Guy Gardner in the DC Universe, will lend his voice to the same character in the previously announced "Mister Miracle" animated series.
