HopDo Toys' "Exo-Armor Series" is launching a brand-new action figure, "Jūku no Krag (Rhinoceros Beetle)," which transforms the rhinoceros beetle's hard, heavy carapace into a formidable, alien warrior design. The figure features interchangeable heads, wings, and numerous weapon parts to display various forms. Priced at 14,100 JPY (tax included), it is slated for release in January 2027.
"Krag" is designed with the rhinoceros beetle as its core motif, with its head retaining the highly recognizable giant horn. The body is covered in thick insect carapace, complemented by robust limbs to create a silhouette brimming with a sense of weight. The main figure also includes interchangeable head parts, allowing for switches between different appearances. The back can be fitted with "Heavy Armor Elytra" and translucent "Blood Crystal Hindwings," further enhancing the visual characteristics of its insect form.
Weapon accessories are also a major highlight of this release. These include the strikingly sized "Blood Eye Greatsword," two "Red Spade Fangs," and the "Red Spade Double-Bladed Axe." It also comes with multiple interchangeable hand parts, such as gripping hands, fists, knife hands, and clawed hands. Furthermore, the two Red Spade Fangs can be connected via the Red Spade Double-Bladed Axe to reconfigure into a large "Red Spade Great Bow," adding a complete ranged weapon form beyond its melee arsenal.
Beyond its heavy insect armor, the figure offers increased display versatility through its wings, weapons, and interchangeable parts. From its heavily armored, carapace-clad form to combat poses wielding a greatsword, dual blades, or even the large great bow, all these options further emphasize the substantial presence conveyed by the "Jūku" (Heavy-Bodied) character concept.
