The Nintendo Museum in Uji, Kyoto, Japan, will launch three exclusive stationery items at its on-site shop, BONUS STAGE, beginning August 13, 2026. The collection includes 8-bit-style ballpoint pens featuring Mario from Super Mario Bros. clinging to a Goal Pole and Donkey Kong Jr. climbing a vine, along with a pen stand modeled after the classic brick fortress. Together, the items bring an iconic slice of Nintendo history—and a memorable part of the museum experience—straight to fans’ desks.
The Nintendo Museum was created by renovating Nintendo’s former Uji Ogura Plant and officially opened in 2024. Its exhibits trace the company’s history through Hanafuda cards, early toys, and generations of video game hardware. Outside, visitors will find a popular photo spot recreating the end of a Super Mario Bros. course, complete with an oversized Goal Pole and brick fortress. The new merchandise takes inspiration from this landmark, transforming a scene previously captured only in souvenir photos into collectible stationery that can be displayed at home.
The two ballpoint pens recreate Mario clinging to a Goal Pole and Donkey Kong Jr. climbing a vine, with each character rendered as a three-dimensional pixel-style figure. A square base bearing the Nintendo Museum logo is included, allowing each pen to stand upright as a display piece. The separate Fortress Pen Stand recreates the familiar brown brick structure seen near the end of a Super Mario Bros. course. Insert the Mario pen into the top, and the two pieces form the complete stage-clear scene, with Mario lowering the flag before heading into the fortress.
The collection will be sold exclusively at BONUS STAGE inside the Nintendo Museum. The shop is generally accessible only to visitors who hold a valid ticket for that day and have entered the museum. These items are not part of the regular merchandise lineup at Nintendo TOKYO, OSAKA, KYOTO, FUKUOKA, or the My Nintendo Store. Nintendo has yet to announce pricing, dimensions, materials, or other detailed specifications, so fans planning a visit should keep an eye on future updates from the Nintendo Museum.
