TAKARA TOMY subsidiary T-ARTS has released a new capsule toy collection titled “Legendary Mikoshi.” Inspired by the portable shrines carried during Japanese festivals, these buildable miniatures faithfully recreate everything from the shrine body and phoenix ornament on the roof to the decorative ropes hanging around the sides. The collection features red, black, and three translucent colorways, priced at 300 yen each including tax. It was released on August 15, 2026.
Despite their palm-sized proportions, these buildable mikoshi models capture the elaborate look of the portable shrines seen at Japanese festivals. The layered roof, phoenix ornament, and intricate decorations surrounding the shrine body preserve the lavish, celebratory feel of the real thing. The five-model lineup includes the “Red Mikoshi,” “Black Mikoshi,” “Translucent Red Mikoshi,” “Translucent Yellow Mikoshi,” and “Translucent White Mikoshi.” Alongside the more traditional red and black versions, the three translucent designs offer a completely different visual effect through their semi-transparent materials.
