Disney's D23 Expo recently kicked off, with several of the studio's major IPs presenting new projects. Among the sequel announcements, the live-action "Lilo & Stitch" sequel debuted a short clip at the event (see link below), offering an early look at Stitch's pink alien girlfriend, Angel, who is set to appear. The second installment is confirmed to be directed by Chris Sanders, who helmed the original animated film and is the consistent voice of Stitch. It is slated for release in North America on May 28, 2028.

In other news, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the "Zootopia" franchise is confirmed to get a third installment, which will introduce new bird characters. Following the massive success of the original film and the ongoing development of its sequel, a third entry was widely anticipated. Director Jared Bush, who co-helmed the first film and is involved in the sequel, had previously hinted at early conceptual work for a third installment.
On the series front, Disney also announced the development of a Disney+ animated series based on the "Kingdom Hearts" video game franchise, with a teaser poster already released (pictured above).
