Bandai Candy has announced through its official development blog that its long-running Precure Cutie Figure line of pre-painted shokugan figures is coming to an end. At the same time, the company unveiled a successor developed around a different product concept: Precure Star Gallery. According to the team, rising raw-material costs, currency fluctuations, and rapid changes in the manufacturing environment have made it increasingly difficult to balance product quality with commercial viability. Although the developers had been exploring ways to keep the series going since last year, they ultimately decided to bring the existing line to a close.
Cutie Figure recreated generations of Precure characters as pre-painted, non-scale figures measuring approximately 10 cm tall, faithfully capturing their costumes, signature poses, and battle-ready appearances. Sold in the relatively accessible shokugan format, the series became an entry point into character figure collecting for children and adult fans alike. The most recent releases before this announcement were the Cutie Figure assortment featuring all five members of You and Idol Precure♪ and a Premium Bandai-exclusive five-figure set. With the line’s conclusion now confirmed, these final releases have become notable keepsakes marking the end of an era.
Its successor, Precure Star Gallery, will carry forward the production expertise accumulated through the Cutie Figure line while pursuing what the team describes as an “evolved Precure figure series.” Bandai Candy has cautioned, however, that the new line will adopt a different product concept and may not be able to maintain the same affordable price range as Cutie Figure. Its character lineup, dimensions, materials, pricing, and sales format have yet to be announced, with a full reveal scheduled for August 19, 2026.
The same development post also revealed the complete five-design lineup for the articulated Star Detective Precure! PreCute shokugan series. The assortment includes Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, Cure Eclair, a fairy set, and Cure Arcana, who made her anime debut in the episode broadcast on August 16. Each stylized figure stands approximately 6.5 cm tall and features articulation at the neck, both arms, and both legs. The skirts are made from a flexible material to accommodate seated poses, while character-specific accessories can be held with both hands to recreate investigation and transformation scenes from the series. The heart-shaped details in the characters’ eyes, costume colors, and finer paint applications have also been adjusted for the final mass-produced versions. The figures are scheduled to launch in Japan at the end of August.
