Hong Kong toy brand POSE+ has revealed a new wave of accessories for its upcoming “POSE+ METAL Dai-Gurren,” based on the iconic mobile fortress from the anime series Gurren Lagann. Unveiled ahead of the figure’s release, the newly announced additions include a fully articulated Mini Gurren Lagann and a selection of display and effect parts that were not shown when the product was first introduced. Although revealed alongside the second preorder window, the new parts will also be included with first-round orders.

Dai-Gurren is the mobile fortress operated by Team Dai-Gurren. The group created it by capturing and extensively rebuilding Dai-Gunzan, the battleship commanded by Spiral King Lordgenome’s Four Supreme General Thymilph the Raging Wave. The fortress houses the various Gunmen fielded by Team Dai-Gurren. Although originally designed exclusively for land operations, subsequent modifications and the addition of a captured flight unit gave it the ability to travel underwater and take to the skies.

The “POSE+ METAL Dai-Gurren” measures an imposing 55 cm long and approximately 33 cm tall, capturing the fortress’s distinctive fusion of robot and battleship in intricate detail. Die-cast components are used in key joints to provide both structural strength and a generous range of articulation. Multi-axis shoulder and arm joints recreate the famous skyward-pointing “Who the hell do you think we are?!” pose, while articulated hips and a movable third bridge allow Dai-Gurren to sit naturally. The included display base stabilizes the bow, and ratcheted leg joints provide precise control over the angle of its kicking poses.

The original accessory lineup includes ten miniature Gunmen figures representing Team Dai-Gurren’s machines, along with the removable Tobitama flight unit. The first-edition Core Drill bonus is now joined by a fully articulated Mini Gurren Lagann, a drill attachment, folded-arm parts, a dedicated support arm and display base, a Giga Drill part, Team Dai-Gurren flag parts and a flexible wire support. Together, the accessories can recreate scenes of Gurren Lagann battling around the fortress as Dai-Gurren charges forward.

The face built into Dai-Gurren’s bridge can be customized with interchangeable expression parts, while independently articulated eyebrows add even more personality. The bow can detach from the main body to recreate the fortress’s Cleaver Anchor weapon. Pairing it with the miniature Gurren Lagann equipped with Gurren Wing also makes it possible to stage aerial combat displays. Smoke effects attach to the funnels at the stern, giving the massive fortress a convincing sense of speed as it charges ahead.
Sections of the hull can also be removed to recreate Dai-Gurren’s “Emergency Escape Mode,” exposing the robotic framework of its lower body. Three types of turrets positioned around the battleship can rotate, with barrels that also elevate and depress. Opening the side covers reveals a carefully sculpted interior complete with a maintenance bay, deck and hangar. The hangar even contains a dedicated Gunmen elevator, allowing collectors to stage launch and deployment scenes with the included miniatures.

A newly added LED lighting system brings the fortress to life. Once powered through the USB Type-C port on Dai-Gurren’s body, the lighting button illuminates multiple areas, including the main bridge, Tobitama flight unit, hangar and engine room. The lights create the impression that Dai-Gurren is fully operational while also revealing the extensive sculpted detail hidden throughout its darker interior spaces.
