Japanese toy company Maruka is set to release a brand-new Disney assembly model kit, the "Donald Duck 3-in-1 Model 30cm." This impressive kit transforms the beloved classic character, Donald Duck, into a large, approximately 30cm tall articulated figure. While retaining his iconic sailor suit and hat, the model offers incredible versatility, allowing collectors to swap parts to create three distinct forms: "Modern," "Classic," and "Cyber." Priced at 9,350 JPY (tax included), the kit is slated for an October 2026 release.
Designed as an assembly kit, the completed model features articulated joints in the head, hands, legs, and even individual fingers. It also comes with three interchangeable facial expressions. The standout feature, however, is the ability to freely switch between the "Modern," "Classic," and "Cyber" appearances. From a classic Donald Duck that closely resembles his familiar animated look to a futuristic, mechanized style with intricate mechanical structures, all three distinct visual effects and display variations can be achieved using the same set of parts.
The main body also incorporates a magnetic sensor-activated light-up eye mechanism. Once activated, the lights will stay on for approximately one minute before automatically turning off. This feature particularly enhances the visual impact of the "Cyber" form, emphasizing its mechanized aesthetic. Combined with its substantial 30cm size and extensive articulation, this kit offers a unique blend of Disney character collecting and intricate mechanical model design.
A companion piece, the "Mickey Mouse 3-in-1 Model 30cm," is also available in the same series, offering similar transformations between Modern, Classic, and Cyber styles.
