Japanese figure manufacturer CCPJAPAN and sculptor Yoshi. are giving Evangelion Unit-01 a dramatic nighttime makeover with the “CCPJAPAN × Yoshi. Project EX Evangelion Unit-01 Night Image Ver.” Inspired by the image of Unit-01 fighting through a city after dark in Rebuild of Evangelion, the statue applies an exclusive new color scheme to the original sculpt. Standing approximately 23 cm tall, it is priced at 36,300 yen, including tax, and is scheduled for release in October 2026 exclusively through EVANGELION STORE and CCPJAPAN’s official online store.
The “CCPJAPAN × Yoshi. Project” line translates sculptor Yoshi.’s highly distinctive designs and intricate detailing into premium finished statues. Unit-01 is reinterpreted as something closer to a living, otherworldly creature than a conventional machine, with a lean but powerfully muscular silhouette, sharply extended limbs and dense textures covering the body. Hard, armor-like surfaces contrast with muscle-fiber detailing around the joints, further emphasizing the organic nature concealed beneath its restraints.
Rather than simply darkening the entire figure, the Night Image Ver. preserves Unit-01’s signature purple and green palette while adding metallic and fluorescent paints inspired by combat under the night sky. Metallic blue highlights create a cold, moonlit shimmer across the flowing sculpt, while fluorescent green accents suggest light reflecting through the darkness. The paintwork is finished at a workshop in Japan, where carefully controlled shadows and gloss levels give the statue an atmospheric yet substantial appearance.
Two interchangeable portraits are included: a composed “standard head” and a wide-mouthed “berserk head.” The magnetically attached parts can be swapped to display Unit-01 in either its controlled state or its far more savage berserk form.
