Japanese toy company Alphamax (アルファマックス株式会社) has announced its latest product from the Tokusatsu series "Space Sheriff Gavan": a new "Gavan" cloth action figure, scheduled for release in December 2026!
Premiering in 1982, "Space Sheriff Gavan" was the inaugural entry in the "Space Sheriff" series. The protagonist, Retsu Ichijouji, secretly works as a Space Sheriff hidden on Earth, while publicly employed at the Avalon Riding Club. Through the "Jouchaku" transformation, he becomes Gavan, battling the interdimensional crime organization Makuu. Simultaneously, he searches for his missing father, the former Space Sheriff Voicer, and gradually uncovers the vast secret behind his disappearance.
Standing approximately 20cm tall, the "Space Sheriff Gavan" figure faithfully recreates the futuristic and space-romantic silver armor design that was groundbreaking at the time. The realistic "Jouchaku" plating and black shield coating provide a striking contrast, meticulously capturing the battlesuit's substantial texture and metallic sheen. Both the eyes and chest feature LED light-up functions, bringing to life the authentic feel of the suit from the show. This figure marks the debut of an internal cloth battlesuit, boasting 38 points of articulation. This design allows for highly dynamic posing without compromising the natural articulation and overall aesthetic. For accessories, the figure includes nine expressive interchangeable hand parts, along with both an LED-equipped and a standard version of the Laser Blade, enabling collectors to recreate Gavan's classic signature poses from the series.
