Die-cast model car brand POP RACE has unveiled the “EVA RT TEST TYPE-01 AMG GT3 EVO – MACAU GP 2023,” a new 1/64-scale release inspired by Evangelion. Based on the EVANGELION RACING Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO that competed at the 2023 Macau Grand Prix, the model recreates the actual race car’s signature Evangelion Unit-01 livery in purple, green, and orange. Priced at 4,180 yen including tax, preorders will remain open through August 24, 2026, with the model scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2027.
Based on the real-world EVA RT TEST TYPE-01 AMG GT3 EVO, the miniature features a metallic purple body accented with the vivid green and orange graphics associated with Evangelion Unit-01. More than 200 tampo-printed details are used to reproduce the racing number, sponsor logos, and intricate competition graphics. Despite its compact 1/64 scale, the decoration extends across the front fascia, side panels, and oversized rear wing to closely match the car’s Macau Grand Prix appearance.
The model also retains the defining features of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, including its wide-body silhouette, aerodynamic components, large rear wing, and competition-style wheels. Its front hood can be removed to reveal the detailed engine components beneath.
Rather than simply applying Unit-01 colors to a generic sports car, POP RACE has chosen to reproduce an EVANGELION RACING machine that competed on the streets of Macau. That real-world racing connection gives the release a clear appeal for both Evangelion collectors and fans of GT racing miniatures.
