Three years ago, Fast X ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, with the villain Dante seemingly wiping out Dom’s entire family. Audiences have been left wondering how they will strike back in the concluding chapter, Fast Forever. Yet three years later, the follow-up has not even begun filming, leaving that cliffhanger unresolved. Universal Pictures has currently scheduled Fast Forever for release on March 17, 2028, although many viewers remain skeptical that it will avoid another delay. Vin Diesel, who stars in and produces the film, is now assuring fans that production is finally drawing close.

Diesel recently attended an event celebrating the 25th-anniversary rerelease of the first The Fast and the Furious film. During an interview at the event, he said: “If I can meet the studio’s requirements, we should be able to start filming this December. Still, I’m in a good place with the project. It took four different groups of writers and four years of development to reach something I believe is worthy of the finale. When I read the screenplay a few weeks ago, it moved me to tears.”

Diesel continued on a more emotional note: “I want to share something personal. This script came together through four groups of writers and four years of work. One tear fell when I reached the halfway point, and by the time I finished the screenplay we had worked so hard to get right, I completely broke down. I couldn’t stop crying and felt compelled to tell everyone. My sister even said, ‘Stop crying, bro.’ What I mean is that sometimes even the toughest people in the world need to let themselves cry.”
