Japanese toy manufacturer TAKARA TOMY has launched the "Poké Nade Poké Ball," an electronic pet designed like a Poké Ball from the "Pokémon" series. Players can directly touch the sphere, watching as the Pokémon on screen react differently based on their touch and affection levels. You can also feed, care for, play with, and even engage in Pokémon battles. The game features a total of 157 Pokémon. With a suggested retail price of 7,480 JPY (tax included), the Poké Nade Poké Ball can also be paired with the "Poké Nade Pikachu Friend Pouch," recently released as part of Pokémon's 30th-anniversary celebrations, allowing trainers to carry their Poké Ball on the go in a charming Pikachu-shaped bag.
The standout feature of the "Poké Nade Poké Ball" is the direct integration of "touching" as a core gameplay mechanic. As players gently stroke the sphere up and down or left and right, the Pokémon on the screen will display happy expressions. Light, continuous taps might also grab their attention, and some Pokémon may even drift off to sleep during interactions. Different stroking speeds, durations, and affection levels all influence the Pokémon's reactions, creating a gameplay experience that truly mimics the daily companionship and care of an electronic pet.
The game includes 7 partner Pokémon: Pikachu, Eevee, Lucario, Sylveon, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, each with unique expressions and character voices. Additionally, there are 150 "friend" Pokémon from 9 different regions, bringing the total number of Pokémon players can encounter to 157. Daily activities include feeding, washing, playing hide-and-seek, singing, and participating in Pokémon battles. Defeating wild Pokémon offers a chance to add them to your collection. Daily play records are saved in a "diary," and players can review their known Pokémon, types, and affection levels through the friend list. The system supports both Japanese and English language switching.
