Actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in "Heroes," recently passed away at the age of 36. Her cause of death has not yet been officially released. According to TMZ, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has joined the death investigation, collaborating with the City of Greenville Police Department in South Carolina and the local coroner's office in a multi-agency probe.

The report indicates that Greenville police and the coroner's office had already launched parallel investigations. The intervention of DEA agents suggests the case may involve drug-related leads. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether drugs are connected to Panettiere's death, and the coroner stated that toxicology results are still pending.
TMZ previously reported that paramedics, during their initial notification, mentioned a possible "drug overdose" for Panettiere. Additionally, Narcan (naloxone) was reportedly found in the apartment where she died. Narcan is an over-the-counter medication used for emergency treatment of opioid overdose, and these findings have contributed to public speculation regarding the direction of the investigation.

The report also noted that this is not the first time the DEA has intervened in a celebrity death investigation. Following Matthew Perry's death from the acute effects of ketamine in 2023, federal agencies launched a months-long investigation that ultimately led to five related convictions, including two doctors and a drug dealer known as the "Ketamine Queen."
However, Panettiere's case remains under investigation, and officials have not confirmed any specific cause of death. When TMZ sought comment from the DEA, a spokesperson merely stated, "The DEA does not confirm or comment on ongoing investigations." This indicates that the public must await further results from the police and coroner's office.
