Bandai Candy, the popular candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest addition to its "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" series: the "Destiny Gundam Spec II" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny". This new item will be available for pre-order exclusively on Premium Bandai starting August 21st.
Piloted by Shinn Asuka, the ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam Spec II is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Archangel after the previous war, then repaired and upgraded by Morgenroete using the latest technology. Enhancements include a cutting-edge panoramic cockpit, new joint armor materials, and significant improvements to the power system. The increased energy output also resulted in a deeper coloration for its Variable Phase Shift (VPS) armor. While its overall weapon loadout remains largely the same, the unit famously revealed its ability to unleash dozens of "afterimages" for coordinated attacks during the final battle.
The "G-FRAME FA Destiny Gundam Spec II [Final Battle Color]" utilizes the same base parts as the separately sold standard version. However, the exterior armor parts feature a deeper, darker molded color, and the frame is molded in metallic red to replicate the glowing effect seen when the unit deploys its "afterimages." Each joint boasts flexible articulation, allowing collectors to pose the mobile suit in a variety of dynamic combat stances.
This release comes packed with a substantial array of accessories, including the Beam Rifle, Shield, "Arondight" Beam Sword, and High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon – a volume of weaponry difficult to include in a standard release. It also features beam effects for the Beam Shield, Palm-Beam Cannon, and Beam Boomerangs, alongside gorgeous "Wings of Light" effect parts that can be attached when the unit's back wings are deployed.
