MEDICOM TOY's popular MAFEX action figure line has unveiled two new products themed around DC Comics' "The Death of Superman." This article focuses on the "No.324 Superman (The Death of Superman)" action figure, which will retail for 14,080 JPY and is slated for a June 2027 release!
"The Death of Superman" is a classic American comic book event published by DC Comics in 1992. It tells the shocking story of Superman's bloody battle against Doomsday, an ancient Kryptonian biological weapon, in Metropolis, ultimately leading to both their exhaustion and demise.
This Superman (The Death of Superman) action figure stands approximately 16 cm tall. It faithfully recreates Superman's appearance from "Superman" #75, released in 1993, during his confrontation with Doomsday. The sculpt captures his torn blue battle suit and exposed, chiseled musculature, with damaged pants at the thighs and intricate details like scrapes and bloodstains across his body. Collectors can display him alongside the simultaneously revealed Doomsday figure to recreate their intense battle and Superman's heavily wounded state!
Accessories include two interchangeable head sculpts—one gritting his teeth in battle and another with serene, closed eyes—multiple sets of alternate hands, laser eye effect parts, and a tattered fabric cape. The most eye-catching accessory is undoubtedly the specialized rubble-themed diorama base, perfect for recreating the classic scene of Superman collapsing after defeating Doomsday. It also comes with a hard-material cape flag accessory that can be inserted into the base, faithfully replicating the iconic "Superman" #75 comic cover!
