Two months ago, Deadline reported that "Gladiator" director Ridley Scott was developing a new film adaptation of the classic adventure novel "Treasure Island." The project had already secured Hugh Jackman to play the iconic pirate villain, Long John Silver, with Jack Thorne, co-creator of the series "Adolescence," penning the script.
Now, in a recent interview, Scott has revealed more potential cast members for the upcoming feature.

Speaking with Collider, Scott confirmed, "Yes, Hugh Jackman will star in this film, and I hope Hugh Grant will also participate, as well as that young man from 'Adolescence' (referring to Owen Teague)." Scott also disclosed that principal photography is slated to begin on November 1st, indicating a remarkably fast-paced production schedule. While Scott did not specify the roles for Grant or Teague, given Teague's age and current prominence, it is highly speculated that he could be cast as the protagonist, Jim Hawkins.
