Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Xbox, Mattel Brick Shop has unveiled the new Microsoft Xbox Building Set. The 3,509-piece set recreates the original Xbox console at 1:1 scale, complete with a full-size brick-built version of its famously massive The Duke controller. It also features interactive lights and sounds, plus three Xbox game-inspired dioramas. Priced at $329.99, the set is available for preorder now, with an official release date yet to be announced.
Beyond recreating the original Xbox's signature black X-shaped design from 2001, the full-size model hides three miniature scenes inspired by Halo: Combat Evolved, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and Psychonauts. Each diorama can be removed from the console and displayed separately. The set also includes 12 approximately 1-inch-tall NanoWorld figures, packing tributes to several defining early Xbox games inside the brick-built console.
The classic The Duke controller is more than a display piece. Its working buttons interact with the console's internal lights and sounds, activating four different light-and-sound combinations alongside audio tied to the three game dioramas. Mattel has even hidden a secret button combination that triggers an additional lighting effect. Opening the console activates the original Xbox startup sequence, turning this 1:1 model into more than a visual replica—it also brings the sights and sounds of the original system to life.
