Netflix has officially announced the release date for "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2," confirming the Studio Trigger-produced sequel will debut on October 20, 2026, with a 10-episode season. The news arrived alongside a brand-new trailer and key art, coinciding with Anime NYC.

The latest trailer spotlights four new characters—Roman Carax, Weak "King" Kingsley, D, and Talia Yang—as the narrative once again unfolds in Night City, the iconic setting of "Cyberpunk 2077."
Roman Carax is introduced as a young film enthusiast with a fascination for analog media, with the trailer suggesting viewers will witness the tragic downfall and demise of his companions in Night City through his perspective. Meanwhile, the legendary edgerunner King struggles with escalating cyberpsychosis, confiding his torment to Talia, who is hospitalized. Rounding out the new cast is D, a vengeful netrunner described as the physical manifestation of grief and suffering.

While a sequel, "Edgerunners 2" will tell a standalone story with an entirely new cast. Kai Ikarashi directs, with Bartosz Sztybor returning as showrunner and Masahiko Otsuka once again contributing to the script. The original series garnered critical acclaim for its fast-paced animation, compelling characters, and brutal narrative twists. This latest trailer, featuring a distinct VHS aesthetic, signals the series' continued commitment to its psychedelic, bloody, and melancholic vision of Night City.
