BANDAI SPIRITS' collector toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced that the METAL ROBOT Damashii series, known for its metallic paint finishes and die-cast frames, will be releasing the "Gundam Double X". This highly anticipated mobile suit is the late-model protagonist unit from "After War Gundam X." Further product details are expected to be revealed at a later date.
The GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X is a powerful mobile suit secretly developed by the New United Nations Earth (NUNE) to symbolize a new era and consolidate its sovereignty. It inherits the design philosophy and data of the "Gundam X," which was hailed as the strongest mobile suit during the 7th Space War, and features a fully transplanted cockpit. Not only are its overall performance greatly enhanced, but it can also activate its "Satellite System" without the need for a Newtype pilot. Its back is equipped with two new "Satellite Cannon Mk-II" units, which boast increased microwave collection efficiency. Their destructive power is several times greater than the old model, capable of continuous firing after a single microwave reception.
A prototype of the "METAL ROBOT Damashii Gundam Double X" has been unveiled, showcasing a sophisticated and cool design that faithfully recreates the mobile suit's full armor and Satellite Cannon Mk-II. The figure features multiple heavy-textured paint applications and body markings, giving the unit a substantial and realistic weapon-like feel. Various joints throughout the mobile suit are also expected to be made with die-cast metal, promising excellent poseability and an impressive appearance when the signature Satellite Cannon Mk-II is deployed.
