BANDAI SPIRITS' Tamashii Nations Collectors Division in Japan has announced the latest addition to its "PROPLICA" series, which brings fictional props to life with cutting-edge technology. The new item, the "G-Controller" from "After War Gundam X", is slated for release in February 2027.
The GX-9900 Gundam X was a powerful strategic weapon developed by the former United Nations Earth. It boasted high-strength Luna Titanium alloy armor, exceptional mobility, and immense output, making it a formidable force across all environments: sea, land, air, and space. Its most devastating feature was the "Satellite Cannon," capable of obliterating an entire colony with a single shot, powered by microwaves continuously transmitted from a lunar base via the "Satellite System." Due to its extreme strategic value, an independent device known as the "G-Controller" was required to activate and control the mobile suit's various armaments and functions. It also served as a critical safety mechanism for regulating the use of the Satellite Cannon.
The "PROPLICA G-Controller" is crafted at a realistic scale, closely matching its in-show appearance. It features intricate detailing, metallic paint, transparent parts, and a variety of colors and materials, faithfully replicating the various buttons and deployment mechanisms. The G-Controller offers three distinct play modes: Story Mode, Operation Mode, and Satellite System Mode. These modes, combined with a rich array of built-in sound and light effects, allow fans to relive classic scenes, iconic lines, and even experience piloting the "Gundam X" and utilizing its diverse weaponry.
・Story Mode
In Story Mode, pressing buttons triggers the playback of character lines from 39 classic scenes. Each line has been newly recorded by the original voice actors, including Wataru Takagi (Garrod Ran). The mode also includes several BGM tracks and hidden dialogue to discover.
・Operation Mode
By attaching the G-Controller to its dedicated stand, users can enter Operation Mode. This mode recreates the deployment and firing sequences of various armaments, such as the Beam Machine Gun, Beam Saber, Gatling Gun, Divider, and G-Bits, complete with synchronized light, sound, and vibration effects. Five battle BGM tracks are also included, featuring iconic songs like "DREAMS" and "Resolution."
・Satellite System Mode
Unlocking the G-Controller's safety mechanism activates the Satellite System Mode, preparing for the deployment of the ultimate weapon, the "Satellite Cannon." As Tiffa Adill (CV. Mika Kanai) and Garrod Ran (CV. Wataru Takagi) deliver their lines and microwave reception sounds play, the G-Controller's LED lights progressively brighten, indicating charging progress. Once the "X" panel illuminates green, signaling a full charge, pressing the trigger unleashes a powerful and dramatic firing sequence!
