BANDAI Unveils New "Barabaride" Battle Toy Series with Explosive Combat Footage! Is This the "Crush Gear Turbo" Revival We've Been Waiting For?

BANDAI Japan has just unveiled a new electric 4WD battle toy series, "Barabaride," releasing an action-packed battle video featuring the "BR-01 Storm Falcon VS BR-02 Rush Stallion." The footage fully showcases the intense gameplay, from charging up and launching, to fierce collisions and explosive disassemblies. This style of play, where armed vehicles clash head-on in an arena and shatter upon hitting a weak point, immediately brings to mind "Crush Gear Turbo" for many collectors, feeling like a brand new "Crush Gear Turbo" experience.

We've previously covered the first wave of releases, including the "BR-01 Storm Falcon," the "BR-02 Rush Stallion," and the "BR-03 Fury Lizard." While the official stance is that this series is not a direct sequel or spin-off of "Crush Gear Turbo," it's a brand new battle toy IP built around the concept of "Car × Destruction." Each unit is composed of a chassis, bumper, tires, and a base. Players can freely swap parts to customize both appearance and combat performance. If one of the three designated weak points is struck, parts will explosively scatter, but can be reassembled for immediate re-entry into battle.

In this latest video, the "Storm Falcon," which can alter its combat strategy based on part orientation and excels at flipping opponents, goes head-to-head against the "Rush Stallion," which utilizes its thin, large-diameter tires for spinning attacks. Both units collide at high speed within the arena, with outer armor and tires violently scattering at the moment of impact. This clearly demonstrates just how intense the battles can get with this "Reiwa-era Crush Gear." Furthermore, the "BR-01 Storm Falcon" has been awarded the Excellence Award in the Action Toy category at the Japan Toy Awards 2026. The series is scheduled for an early hands-on experience and limited pre-sale at the "2026 Tokyo Toy Show CoroCoro Soul Festival" on August 29th and 30th.
