Hong Kong-based model manufacturer YOLOPARK is expanding its high-quality pre-painted alloy assembly model "AMK PRO" series with a new "Bumblebee" movie-themed release: the Shockwave pre-painted alloy assembly model. This follows their previous Soundwave offering. Priced at $62.99 USD, Shockwave is slated for an October 2026 release.

Shockwave holds a significant place in Transformers history, being one of the original characters introduced in Hasbro's first wave of toys in 1984. His design was inspired by a toy developed by Japanese toy company ToyCo, and his character was brought to life through Marvel Comics. Originally known as "Astro Magnum" in the series, his alternate mode was a formidable cosmic laser gun. In the classic G1 animation, Shockwave was depicted firing various forms of energy and electromagnetic waves from the cannon on his left arm. His cold, calculating scientific analysis and unwavering logic made him one of the Decepticons' most dependable lieutenants.

Shockwave made a memorable, albeit brief, appearance alongside Starscream and Soundwave in the intense opening Cybertronian war sequence of the "Bumblebee" movie. This new AMK PRO Shockwave figure meticulously recreates his G1-inspired design from that cinematic moment. Standing approximately 21 cm tall upon completion, the model features a simple assembly process. Its detailed sculpt perfectly captures his iconic cycloptic head and formidable arm cannon. Furthermore, every section of his external armor boasts intricate weathering effects, vividly portraying the wear and tear of countless battles.

The internal frame boasts alloy construction at critical load-bearing joints, complemented by smooth, durable POM material, ensuring robust support and fluid, precise articulation. Shockwave's left arm laser cannon can rotate a full 90 degrees, complete with an interlocking gear mechanism that delivers realistic barrel movement. For posing versatility, the kit includes both fully articulated five-finger hands and clenched fists, allowing for a wide array of dynamic stances. True to the AMK PRO line, this figure features an impressive LED light-up function for both the headsculpt and weapon, activated magnetically by the included metal Decepticon insignia to perfectly replicate the movie's glowing effects. As an added bonus, a classic Transformers light-piping headsculpt is also provided, offering a battery-free light-up option when illuminated from behind, further expanding display possibilities.
