Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, under its prize brand BANPRESTO, has announced its latest product from the classic anime "Mobile Suit Gundam": the "Ceramic Bowl - Zaku II / Char's Custom Zaku II". These unique bowls are slated for release on September 17, 2026!
The Zaku II stands as one of the Principality of Zeon's primary mass-produced mobile suits during the One Year War, and it remains one of the most recognizable mobile suit series. Its military-inspired color scheme, asymmetrical armor, and exposed piping give it a hardcore aesthetic that has captivated countless fans, even inspiring the playful saying, "Kids like Gundam, but real men love Zaku." Among its variants, the most popular is undoubtedly the red Char's Custom Zaku II, piloted by the "Red Comet" himself, Char Aznable. Its crimson paint job and distinctive head antenna have solidified the legendary phrase "Red, horned, three times faster" in ACG circles for over five decades, making it an undeniable fan favorite in the Gundam series.
The "Ceramic Bowl - Zaku II / Char's Custom Zaku II" measures approximately 6cm tall and 12cm wide. It will be available in two versions: the green standard Zaku II and the red Char's Custom Zaku II. Designed with the Zaku's instantly recognizable face as its foundation, the bowls faithfully recreate the mono-eye. The iconic power pipe protrusions are cleverly integrated into the bowl's rim, creating a fun, three-dimensional effect. As an added bonus, simply flipping the bowl upside down transforms it into the familiar Zaku head!
