MODEROID Linebarrel Overdrive Plastic Model Kit Gets Re-Release, Features Expanding Armor for Overdrive Mode!

Good Smile Company's MECHA SMILE brand has announced a re-release for the MODEROID Linebarrel Overdrive plastic model kit, based on the popular manga "Linebarrels of Iron," with a scheduled re-release in January 2027.

The colossal mecha, Linebarrel, piloted by protagonist Kouichi Hayase, is the mysterious 12th "anti-MACHINA unit," an unexpected addition beyond the 11 existing MACHINA in the series. Shrouded in mystery, its performance surpasses other MACHINA. Equipped with two main Katana weapons for close-quarters combat, its tail stabilizer wing houses a flight unit and the long-range beam weapon "EXECUTOR." The unit also features a high-output "Overdrive Mode" where its armor expands to expose internal heat sinks.

The MODEROID Linebarrel Overdrive kit features multi-colored plastic parts, pre-painted components, and waterslide decals to replicate the unit's markings. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 18 cm tall, allowing for a near-anime accurate appearance straight out of the box. Its highly articulated joints enable dynamic posing, and by swapping parts, collectors can recreate the Overdrive Mode with its exposed internal heat sinks.

Accessories include multiple interchangeable hand parts and two Katanas mounted on its arms. Both Katanas can be drawn from their sheaths, allowing for cool combat poses. The EXECUTOR, housed within the stabilizer wing, can be detached and connected with a wire part, or held in hand for firing poses. Furthermore, by swapping parts, collectors can recreate its maximum output state, deploying a massive beam sword.
