Japanese model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the latest addition to its "Arcanadea" Bishoujo plastic model series, which blends fantasy and sci-fi elements. The new item, "Orage Pavorea," from the "XenoAlma" sub-series, is slated for release in March 2027.
The "XenoAlma" series features fantasy creature model kits based on various animals, expanding the "Arcanadea" world. These kits utilize abundant clear parts to evoke a fantastical aesthetic, cleverly blending creature designs with weapon forms. Beyond displaying and playing with them individually in "Monster Mode," they can also link up with "Arcanadea" DEARS characters, transforming into "Armed Mode" to become expanded weapons and armor for the DEARS.
The "XenoAlma Orage Pavorea" is a fantasy creature designed by illustrator Toshiaki Takayama. The model kit precisely recreates its phoenix-like golden body using gold-colored molded parts. Its wings feature opalescent clear blue parts to achieve a luminous effect, while the magnificent tail feathers utilize polarized molding colors to mimic the iridescent hues of peacock feathers. Each part is assembled using multiple connecting joints and 3mm pegs, allowing for dynamic posing even as a standalone figure.
However, pairing the "Orage Pavorea" with separately sold "Arcanadea" figures unlocks even more playability. Not only can it combine with other creatures from the "XenoAlma" series, but its body can also be separated into various armed accessories like weapons, shoulder armor, backpacks, and waist components. These parts can then transform into a large bow, staff, fan, or fantasy-style armor, offering a multitude of expanded armaments for the DEARS characters.
