Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, who previously co-starred in "EDtv" and "True Detective," have frequently discussed with media in recent years that McConaughey's mother and Harrelson's father knew each other years ago and were once quite close. This led them to wonder if they might actually be half-brothers.
Now, the longtime friends have developed this speculation into an Apple TV+ comedy series titled "Brothers," set to premiere on September 23rd. The first trailer was just released.

McConaughey and Harrelson also star as themselves in the series, albeit "parallel universe" versions. The story follows Harrelson after his daughter's wedding falls apart, leading him to temporarily stay at McConaughey's home. The two soon discover they might be biological brothers. As Harrelson grapples with this revelation, McConaughey faces a different kind of identity crisis: he might be running for governor of Texas.
"Brothers" is executive produced by Lee Eisenberg, who has previously produced several series for Apple TV+ including "Lessons in Chemistry" and "WeCrashed". The season will consist of eight episodes.
