Adèle Exarchopoulos, the French actress who earned the Cannes Palme d'Or for "Blue is the Warmest Color," has recently landed roles in two upcoming Hollywood productions.

One of these projects is "The Brigands of Rattlecreek," the fourth English-language film from South Korean director Park Chan-wook, acclaimed for "Oldboy." Exarchopoulos is set to star opposite Austin Butler as a married couple. The ensemble cast also includes Matthew McConaughey, Pedro Pascal, and Tang Wei, who previously worked with Park Chan-wook on "Decision to Leave." The production boasts a budget of approximately $60 million.

Her other new role is in "Die Alive," the third feature film from director Megan Park ("My Old Ass"). Unlike her supporting part in "The Brigands of Rattlecreek," Exarchopoulos will take on the lead role in "Die Alive," marking her first time as a Hollywood leading lady.

"The Brigands of Rattlecreek" is based on a screenplay written over two decades ago by S. Craig Zahler, director of "Brawl in Cell Block 99." Park Chan-wook has reportedly harbored a desire to direct the film for more than a decade, with production officially commencing this year. In addition to directing, Park Chan-wook also personally revised the latest draft of the script.

The film centers on a sheriff and a doctor who unite to seek revenge against a gang of bandits. This ruthless group exploits a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the residents of a small town. The narrative will delve into themes frequently explored in Park Chan-wook's work, such as revenge, retribution, the consequences of violence, and the enduring power of memory and family, but transposed to the setting of the American West.
