BANDAI HOBBY, a model kit brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has officially unveiled detailed information for the latest collaboration product in its fantasy-themed "30 MINUTES FANTASY" (30MF) model kit series: the "Rathalos Armor" from "Monster Hunter Wilds." This new kit is slated for release in March 2027.
The "King of the Skies," Rathalos, stands as one of the most iconic monsters in the "Monster Hunter" series. Measuring over 17 meters in length, its body is covered in crimson scales. Its powerful, massive wings allow for swift flight at high altitudes. Beyond its ferocious temperament, Rathalos boasts exceptional combat prowess, capable of unleashing scorching flames from its internal "Flame Sac" that can reduce anything to ash. Its superior aerial mobility and keen eyesight enable it to lock onto prey from above and maintain relentless pursuit. Armor sets crafted from Rathalos materials are renowned for their striking appearance and formidable fire-element offensive and defensive capabilities.
The "30MF Rathalos Armor" model kit is constructed with entirely new armor parts, utilizing molded plastic colors to capture the signature red and black hues of the Rathalos equipment. Beyond the organic, irregular scales and spiky textures, the kit meticulously reproduces fine details such as rivets on the metallic armor pieces and the Scoutfly Cage hanging from the belt. The Slinger mounted on the left arm features an articulated mechanism to display its deployed state. The chosen Rathalos weapon is the incredibly imposing "Rathalos Great Sword," designed to maintain its organic aesthetic without becoming overly heavy.
The articulated base body carries over the excellent design of the 30MF series, featuring a neutral element core in the chest and a robust, muscular silhouette. Thanks to multi-axis articulation in the limbs, chest, waist, and neck, collectors can pose the figure in natural and dynamic stances, including running, high-kneeling, cross-legged sitting, and wielding the great sword. The body is equipped with numerous standard 3mm connection ports and expansion ring joints on the limbs, allowing for the attachment of its own armor or interchangeability with other products in the series.
