METAL STRUCTURE 解体匠機 Teases New Reveal with Countdown Page, Full Details Dropping August 27!

BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS has released a new teaser for its high-end Gundam completed-figure line, METAL STRUCTURE KAITAI-SHOU-KI, and launched a dedicated countdown page. The official post offers only the clue, “Dismantling the ‘signpost’ that began inscribing the lineage of ‘Gundam,’” with new information scheduled to be revealed at 10:00 a.m. JST on August 27, 2026.

A previously announced lineup of new Gundam releases already included METAL STRUCTURE KAITAI-SHOU-KI. Although the official post itself did not mention Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II, or the AEUG, it has renewed attention on the METAL STRUCTURE KAITAI-SHOU-KI RX-178 Gundam Mk-II, first displayed in 2023 and revisited with an updated prototype in 2024. Earlier displays featured a highly detailed internal frame, opening armor and maintenance hatches, a light-up head camera, and a hangar-style presentation with maintenance crew figures and a display base.

The most notable clue is the string “gundam_mk2_aeug” at the end of the official countdown page URL. Combined with the wording about the “Gundam lineage” (“ガンダム”の系譜) and a “signpost” (道標), many fans online are speculating that the reveal may point to the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II in its AEUG configuration. Until the official announcement, however, this remains fan speculation based on the URL and previously displayed prototypes. After nearly three years of waiting, fans will learn on August 27 whether the Gundam Mk-II will move from a reference exhibit to a full product release, along with its specifications, price, sales method, and release date.
