Earlier this month, producer Amy Pascal for the new "James Bond" film hinted that the seventh actor to portray 007 could be revealed by the end of the year, signaling that the casting process would soon intensify. Now, gossip outlet Page Six has exclusively reported that official screen tests—a more advanced stage than typical auditions, conducted in a studio—are set to begin in September.

Page Six also revealed that actors currently on the screen test shortlist include Jack Lowden, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner (recently married to British pop superstar Dua Lipa), and the lesser-known Jack Barton (pictured above).

However, another outlet, Knight Edge Media, added that of the names reported by Page Six, only Turner and Barton remain in contention, with the others already eliminated. In addition to those two, Jack O’Connell (pictured above), who has gained significant mainstream attention recently for his villainous roles in a project titled "Sinners" and the "28 Years Later" franchise, is also on the list, alongside an unidentified dark horse actor also vying for the iconic role.
