China's high-quality collectible figure brand, HIYA TOYS, has announced a brand-new product for the sci-fi film "Starship Troopers" under its "EXQUISITE BASIC" series: the "Warrior Bug Action Figure." This non-scale figure stands approximately 13.5 cm tall and is priced at 10,450 JPY (tax included), with an estimated release in September 2027.
Released in 1997 and directed by Paul Verhoeven, "Starship Troopers" follows Johnny Rico as he joins the Mobile Infantry to fight in the interstellar war between the United Citizen Federation and the Arachnids. The "Warrior Bug" serves as the primary combat unit deployed by the Arachnids on the front lines. With its swift movement, razor-sharp forelimbs, and formidable close-quarters attack power, it became an iconic monster in the film, responsible for countless Federal soldiers' demise on the battlefield.
This new figure meticulously recreates the Warrior Bug's wide, splayed head carapace, scythe-like attack limbs, sharp mandibles, segmented long legs, and layered dorsal armor. The carapace surface is intricately sculpted with spikes, wrinkles, and fine biological textures. Its black and dark brown exoskeleton features vivid yellow stripes and deep red markings, enhanced by multi-layered paint applications that boost the carapace's perceived thickness and texture, capturing the film's aggressively armored silhouette.
The Warrior Bug features multiple articulated joints in its legs and various limbs, allowing for dynamic poses such as high-speed charges, raising its scythe-like forelimbs, or pouncing on Mobile Infantry soldiers. A display stand is also included to assist with presentation. Want to recreate the swarming battlefields of Klendathu in your display case? The Federation needs every citizen to do their part!
