METAL STRUCTURE 解体匠機 Unveils RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (A.E.U.G. Specifications) – Over 2,500 Parts Bring Realistic Mecha to Life with Three Armor Deployment Modes!

Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nations, the collector's toy division from Japan, has officially unveiled the full details for the highly anticipated third entry in its ultra-high-end die-cast finished model series, "METAL STRUCTURE 解体匠機": the "RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (A.E.U.G. Specifications)". This impressive release is slated for January 2027.

The "METAL STRUCTURE 解体匠機" series meticulously re-examines fictional mobile suits—from their appearance, design, and performance to their equipment and settings. Through detailed structural analysis and three-dimensional perspective sketches, it transforms imagination into tangible reality. By incorporating accumulated insights and continuous refinement, the series brings forth unprecedented structural and design concepts. Each product is a culmination of extensive effort, utilizing thousands of parts made from die-cast metal, ABS, POM, PVC, and etched components to achieve the pinnacle of craftsmanship.

In Universal Century 0087, the setting of "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", the Earth-supremacist elite Federation Forces unit, the Titans, sought to assert their authority over the pro-space faction, the A.E.U.G. To achieve this, they excluded engineers with Zeon backgrounds and appointed protagonist Kamille Bidan's father, Franklin Bidan, to lead the development of the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II. This successor to the iconic RX-78 Gundam, which turned the tide of the One Year War, boasts a remarkably similar silhouette but incorporates the latest contemporary technology throughout its design. Notably, the implementation of a "Movable Frame" significantly enhanced its mobility, expandability, and ease of maintenance.

The "METAL STRUCTURE 解体匠機 Gundam Mk-II (A.E.U.G. Specifications)" meticulously deconstructs and reconstructs the mobile suit based on the RX-78-2 Gundam's design philosophy, incorporating rich settings such as "mass production," "introduction of the Movable Frame," "systematization of propulsion backpack equipment," "abolition of the Core Block System and cockpit improvements," and "externalization and standardization of various armaments." Comprising over 2,500 parts and standing approximately 31 cm tall, this model achieves incredibly realistic and precise detailing. From the outer armor and the mechanical structures beneath to the Movable Frame, each layer features diverse material parts, heavy-duty color applications, and intricate decal printing, showcasing the complex and high-quality design and functionality of the mobile suit.

Furthermore, this Gundam Mk-II features intricate deployment mechanisms across its entire body armor. It can transform from the "Standard Combat Form," which faithfully recreates its original design, into a "High Mobility Combat Form" with exposed armor gaps to enhance maneuverability and heat dissipation. Finally, it can transition into a "Full Maintenance Form" where all armor parts are fully deployed, allowing for a deep dive into the ingenious internal mechanical design of areas like the head camera, cockpit, various thrusters, and backpack.

Included accessories feature a dedicated display base equipped with various robotic arms and mobile platforms, along with multiple mini-figures, including Kamille and maintenance crew. These can be combined with the Mk-II's head camera, chest sensors, and cockpit's internal LED lighting mechanism, as well as the lights positioned on both sides of the base, to recreate a realistic scene of the team performing maintenance on the Mk-II.

Armament accessories include the Beam Rifle, Hyper Bazooka, Head Vulcan Pod System, and Shield. Each weapon has been meticulously reconstructed based on the original designs, not only adding more rational and intricate detailing but also allowing for the disassembly of components like barrels, magazines, and grips. These can then be reassembled to create an original integrated Beam Rifle and Hyper Bazooka armament, showcasing the A.E.U.G.'s potential experimental equipment usage after capturing the mobile suit.
