Japanese model manufacturer MegaHouse recently showcased a new bust model series, "LEGEND's FACES COLLECTION," with its first entry, the developing prototype for "Godzilla (2016)," at the Tokyo Toy Show 2026. The release date remains unconfirmed.

The Godzilla that appeared in the film "Shin Godzilla" was co-designed by director Hideaki Anno, designer Mahiro Maeda, and sculptor Takayuki Takeya, among others. This colossal "perfect organism" possesses the ability to rapidly evolve and de-evolve, quickly adapting to its environment, undergoing several transformations within hours of landing in Japan. Godzilla's body contains "thermonuclear energy conversion biological organs", seemingly allowing it to generate immense energy without needing to feed, while also emitting radioactive substances. In the film, after being attacked by U.S. military bombers, Godzilla entered an awakened state, unleashing an atomic breath from its mouth that instantly incinerated Tokyo's bustling streets, a phenomenon far beyond humanity's current understanding.
The "~LEGEND's FACES COLLECTION~ Godzilla (2016)" bust is sculpted by Kenichi Tanaka, representative of TANAKA STUDIO and also active as a film director and screenwriter. Since beginning his sculpting career in 2014, Tanaka has excelled at creating highly detailed statues of various tokusatsu kaiju, especially Godzilla. His garage kit works, frequently sold at Wonder Festival, are highly acclaimed and sought after for their accurate portrayal of in-film appearances, incredibly dense detailing, and ability to capture the monsters' ferocious expressions. He has also previously collaborated with brands like XM Studios and MONDO to release several Godzilla products.

This new product re-imagines Kenichi Tanaka's 2025 garage kit, "Godzilla Head 2016," into a pre-painted finished model bust, standing approximately 14 cm tall. It will be released in two versions: Godzilla (2016) Fourth Form and Godzilla (2016) Fourth Form Atomic Breath Ver. Both versions meticulously reproduce the original prototype's ultra-high-density details, finely capturing Godzilla's rough, reef-like skin, its mouth full of jagged teeth, and its alien oral structure that defies typical vertebrate biology.
