GOOD SMILE COMPANY's MECHA SMILE brand, known for its finished mecha toys, has announced the latest addition to its "THE GATTAI" series: J-Decker from the anime "Brave Police J-Decker," slated for release in June 2027.
The leader of the Brave Police, Deckerd, is a detective robot developed by the Japanese Metropolitan Police Department to combat advanced robot crime. During his development, a chance encounter with protagonist Yuuta Tomonaga led to daily interactions that gradually instilled a "heart" in his super AI. This allowed him to independently solve numerous major cases, often without human command. In terms of combat capabilities, Deckerd can transform from a patrol car into a robot for battle. Furthermore, he can combine with his support vehicle, the J-Loader, to form the colossal robot J-Decker, gaining immense power and flight capabilities he wouldn't otherwise possess.
The "THE GATTAI J-Decker" set includes both the Brave Detective Deckerd and his support vehicle, the J-Loader. It boasts excellent sculpting, extensive articulation, and a transformation/combination gimmick faithful to the original series. Deckerd himself stands approximately 12 cm tall and can fully transform between patrol car and robot modes without part swapping. Accessories include interchangeable "pistol-holding hand parts" and "police notebook-holding hand parts," allowing for dynamic poses with his full range of articulation. The J-Loader features a cannon deployment mechanism and an original toy gimmick, allowing J-Decker's Electromagnetic Baton and J-Buster to be connected and pre-mounted on its jet wings.
Thanks to its complete transformation and combination mechanism, which requires no part swapping, Deckerd and the J-Loader can form the impressive 25.5 cm tall J-Decker. Articulation, including a waist rotation joint, allows for iconic poses like salutes and firing stances. The black armor beneath the chest can be swapped with "appearance-focused parts" to accurately recreate its on-screen proportions, with the removed parts storable on the back. Weaponry includes the Electromagnetic Baton and the J-Buster, which can transform between pistol and rifle modes.
