Following the announcement of the first "Brave Police J-Decker" release, J-Decker, from Good Smile Company's MECHA SMILE brand, the second entry in the THE GATTAI series, Gunmax, has been teased for productization. A release date has not yet been set.
Known as the "White Car Detective," Gunmax is a Brave Robot whose design is based on American motorcycle police officers. His lone-wolf and arrogant nature led to his transfer from the highway patrol to the Brave Police. While Gunmax himself doesn't transform or combine with other units, he comes with a dedicated motorcycle, the Gun Bike. This vehicle not only grants him exceptional ground pursuit capabilities but can also combine with Gunmax to form "Gunmax Armor" or transform into the "Max Cannon" for Fire J-Decker to wield.
The currently released CG images of the product in development reveal that "THE GATTAI Gunmax" will include the Gunmax figure and his beloved motorcycle. Both Gunmax's body and various parts of the motorcycle are designed with connection points and transformation mechanisms, strongly suggesting it will be able to combine to recreate "Gunmax Armor." However, engineering the combination where the motorcycle disassembles into numerous armor parts to encase Gunmax's body is no simple feat. For instance, the previously released SMP (Shokugan Modeling Project) model kit version required significant disassembly and reassembly of the main body. Furthermore, the "Max Cannon" transformation could only maintain proper proportions by using dedicated parts. We are highly anticipating how the THE GATTAI version will tackle these complex mechanisms.
