HIYA Toys, known for its extensive lineup of Toho kaiju figures under the EXQUISITE BASIC series, is set to release its latest offering: "Godzilla (2000)" from the film "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus." This highly anticipated figure is slated for a Q3 2027 release.
"Godzilla vs. Megaguirus" stands as the second installment in the Millennium series, presenting a gripping narrative where the Japanese government establishes the "Special G Countermeasures Headquarters" to combat Godzilla's relentless attacks on nuclear power plants. Their ambitious "G Annihilation Strategy" aims to defeat Godzilla using the ultimate anti-Godzilla weapon, the Dimension Tide black hole cannon. However, a test firing inadvertently awakens ancient insects known as Meganula. These creatures lay larvae that eventually absorb Godzilla's energy, evolving into the formidable Megaguirus. The stage is then set for a climactic three-way battle across Tokyo!
The "EXQUISITE BASIC Godzilla (2000)" is a non-scale 7-inch action figure, standing approximately 18cm tall. It meticulously recreates Godzilla's distinctive flattened head and features finely sculpted, rough skin textures. The figure boasts a dark gray-green main body complemented by pearlescent purple-pink dorsal fins, faithfully capturing its iconic movie appearance. Equipped with multiple points of articulation throughout its body and a multi-segmented posable tail, this figure offers both impressive sculpt and playability. It also includes a pair of interchangeable hands for dynamic posing.
